CAMPAIGN FOR THE CONTROL AND REGULATION OF COLTAN 'S TRADE IN DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO ( DRC ) : TIME FOR ACCOUNTABILITY IN DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO

We are calling upon all people of good will to join the Protest March we are organising with others Congolese organisation on Saturday 26th June to raise awarness about the looting of minerals in the Democratic Republic of Congo. We are calling the Irish government to press the European Parliament to : -1 Place a higher priority on what is the deadliest conflict in world since second World War -2 Etablish an independent commission of inquiry to look into all aspect of the human rigths violations in Congo since 1997. -3 Hold to account companies and individuals throught sanctions trafficking in minerals , wether with rebels groups or neighborouring countries . -4 Impose a control and regulation of Coltan's trade (and others rare minerals) as they do for diamonds (Kimberley process) Event update : Point of Assembly : we are all meeting at Parnell Square , at 9.30 AM then we peacefully march to the Irish Parliament,(Dail). THE UGLY FACE OF IMPERIALISM AND NEO-COLONIALISM IN THE DRC For over 10 years , compagnies in Industrialised countries have purchased Coltan despite war and lawlessness in the Democratic Republic of Congo . The war in the DRC has reached a level of complexity to the point that it has been renamed the " African World war " having involved eight African nations ....
